I am aware of the intended reasoning behind why the music was used, but it does not change my opinion that it does not fit in the film. 

The soundtrack to The Great Gatsby was atrocious. It was completely out of place and unnecessary. If you were going to add a modern twist to the film with electronic music at least use electro swing, which even then is out of place. I like most of the artists featured, but seriously it made the film hard to watch at points. What Jay-Z was going for was a complete misfire. Mr. Sulu engage the hate mail.
